Basrah Gas Company opens Anas bin Malik and Hassan Al-Basri schools within the Madrasati project.

As part of BGC’s social investment projects and within the framework of the Madrasati initiative, on 15 February 2024 BGC opened Al-Hassan Al-Basri School and on 29 February 2024 it opened Anas bin Malik School in Al-Zubair district. BGC in collaboration with Amar Foundation fully renovated and rehabilitated the two school buildings with the best specifications which was withing the second phase of the Madrasati project. It included the restoration and rehabilitation works, all construction works, infrastructure, cooling systems, provision of educational supplies, first aid kits and the provision of modern furniture.

Training courses were also conducted for the students and teachers on traffic safety and first aid, in addition to examining the students’ eyes in cooperation with the Basra Health Department. This initiative was successfully rolled out in collaboration with the Basra Education Directorate, Amar International Foundation, the local government in Al Zubair district, the Basra Health Department, the Basra Traffic Directorate as well as of course BGC’s Social Investment team.

The number of beneficiaries was more than 950 students in both schools, where a safe and stimulating study environment was provided for students and teaching staff. BGC will continue to add value to the local communities neighboring our operations within Social Investment strategy.
